Ways To Help EES

Welcome to the
2009-2010 School Year
at Evans Elementary

We wanted to remind those of you returning, and inform those new to our school, of some of the programs Evans Elementary participates in that will enable you to help our school with minimal effort or time, at no extra cost to you.

Loyalty cards – EES receives money from your use of Publix, Bi-Lo, Kroger, and Target loyalty cards.

  • Publix – The Publix loyalty card is attached. Just hand it to them at the register before you pay.

  • Bi-Lo - The Bi-Lo form is attached, take this with you on your next shopping trip to Bi-Lo to get that number registered to your Bi-Lo Bonus cards so that EES can earn money from your purchases.

  • Kroger - If you shop at Kroger just tell them at the checkout that you wish to have EES as your school choice on your Kroger Plus card and they will put in a code that will work for the rest of the school year.

  • Target - EES can be added to your Target credit card by going to their website.

Printer Ink Cartridges - EES also receives money for recycling printer ink cartridges (which can be left at the school office);

Recycling Newspaper and Magazines (recycling bin located near the pavilion as you go through car line – notebook paper and typing paper are now also being accepted);

Box Tops for Education (collection cans located in each classroom). Don’t forget to check the bottoms of the Kleenex and Ziploc boxes for those Box Tops.

Can tabs are collected to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

Campbell’s labels are collected in a container near the office and redeemed periodically for various school supplies. You will find attached a list of eligible Campbell’s products and their point values.

We would appreciate your participation in any of these areas to help us make our school a little better, one box top at a time.

Capri Sun Drink Pouches are being recycled and submitted to Terracycle who makes cute accessories with the pouches. (ie: pencil cases, handbags,etc.) EES receives 2 cents for every pouch. Collection containers are in the cafeteria and the PK – 1st grade class rooms.

Welcome to the Evans Elementary PTO!

Our 2009-2010 PTO Executive Board
  • Teri Booth - President
  • Marjorie Richmond - Vice President
  • Amy Lami - Secretary
  • Linda Brill - Treasurer
Perhaps you’ve heard about our group through various fundraising activities or the supplies and programs we support at school. Providing these extras is important to us, but our work goes beyond raising money.

Our key mission is to promote an environment at school where teachers and administrators can do their best work and our students can do their best learning. We’re always eager to find more great people, like you, to help us meet this goal.

We don’t expect a huge time commitment from volunteers. An hour can be a big help to our group and the school, and we have positions and tasks to fit all schedules and interests. Just let us know whether a program, event, or activity interests you and when you might be free to help. (You don’t even have to come to the school or attend a meeting to be involved, although we’d really like to meet you personally!)

Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades, higher test scores and fewer discipline problems. Involvement at the school also makes it easier to establish friendships with teachers and other parents. We promise that the time you give our group and the school will be worth your while—and fun!

Feel free to call or e-mail if you have any questions. Together, we can make a difference at Evans Elementary!
